Officer in Charge, CDR Toochi "T" Udeinya

Command Udeinya was born in Nigeria and raised in Rockville, Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Millersville University and a Master of Art in Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University. He enlisted in the Navy on 09 November 2006. After attending boot camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Electronic Technician Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) “C” School in Norfolk, Virginia.

He reported to his first command, USS Chancellorsville (CG 62), in San Diego, CA completing a Western Pacific deployment serving as the ships IFF Radar Technician. CDR Udeinya received his commission through the Officer Candidate School as an Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer in 2009.

After commissioning, his first tour was at Strike Fighter Squadron 41 (VFA-41) where he served as the Quality Control Officer and Material Control Officer deploying on the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) supporting a Western Pacific deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While at VFA-41, he also volunteered for an Individual Augmentee assignment to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti as the Fuels Officer.

CDR Udeinya’s additional assignments include Power Plants, Airframes, and Support Equipment Division Officer at Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic, Assistance Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Material Control Officer at Patrol Squadron Eight (VP-8), Flag Aide for COMFRC, and Integrated Product Team Lead for the Electro-Optic Third and Fourth Generation Programs at the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Officer (PMA-260). He also served as the Officer in Charge for COMFAIRWESTPAC AIMD Bahrain and the Officer in Charge and Maintenance Officer for Commander, Fleet Air Sigonella.

Additionally, he is a member of the Defense Acquisition Professional Community and is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Practitioner career-field certified in Engineering and Technical Management and Practitioner career-field certified in Program Management.

He is currently serving as Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Detachment Jacksonville Officer in Charge.

CDR Udeinya’s decorations include seven Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, two Humanitarian Service Medals, and other various service and campaign awards.
