Officer in Charge, LCDR Jonathan Patnaude

 
Lieutenant Commander Jonathan G. Patnaude hails from Coleraine, Minnesota. He enlisted in the United States Navy in February 2000 as an Aviation Structural Mechanic and served his first assignment at Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Sea Operational Detachment (SEAOPDET) at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, Washington from August of 2000 to December of 2004.  He deployed aboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) in 2001 and USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) in 2003.  

In February of 2005 he reported to Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in Atsugi, Japan, where he was responsible for the management of the F/A-18C/D PMI program. In April of 2008 he reported aboard VAQ-135, where he deployed in 2009 for their final deployment of the EA-6B Prowler aboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). Following their return, he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and the squadron began transition to the EA-18G Growler. In January of 2011, he reported aboard VAQ-129 and led several VAQ squadrons through the transition from the EA-6B to the EA-18G. While at VAQ-129, he was commissioned as a Limited Duty Officer and assigned to VAQ-209.

He reported for his first commissioned tour in April of 2013 at VAQ-209, where he led the squadron through a homeport change from Joint Base Andrews, MD to NAS Whidbey Island, WA, and through transition to the EA-18G. Once certified Safe for Flight, the squadron deployed to SEVENTH Fleet, including Guam, South Korea, and Japan. In July of 2016, he reported to VAQ-136 and deployed twice aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). In July of 2019, he continued on sea duty with VAQ-137 and deployed aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).  

He reported to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Detachment Key West in November of 2021 and assumed his current position as Officer in Charge.

His personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
