Chief Warrant Officer Four Richey, a native of Aliceville, Alabama, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1996. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command (RTC), he attended Airman Apprenticeship Training School (ATD), in Great Lakes, Illinois.
After serving 19 years in the enlisted ranks and advancing to Chief Aircrew Survival Equipmentman, he was selected for Chief Warrant Officer and was commissioned in March 2017.
His sea and shore tours include the USS Enterprise (CVN 65), Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 120, Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (AIMD) Oceana, Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 124, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Detachment (FRCSE DET) Mayport, Patrol Squadron (VP) 4, and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 72.
In February 2025, he officially reported to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, Detachment Mayport, Florida where he currently serves as the Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC).
Chief Warrant Officer Four Richey is a graduate of Excelsior University with a degree in Business Administration and Management and is a Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. His military awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (ten awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and numerous other unit, campaign, and service awards. Additionally, he is entitled to wear both the (EAWS) and (ESWS) insignias.
