Senior Enlisted Leader, AFCM Harley Apperson
Master Chief Apperson, a native of McConnelsville, Ohio, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 2000. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he completed Aviation Structural Mechanic “A” School in Pensacola, Florida in August 2000.
His operational assignments include tours with Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 136, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 192, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 115, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 195, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 101, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102 and Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, where he served as the maintenance master chief.
Ashore, he served at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest, San Diego.
Apperson assumed the role of senior enlisted leader for Fleet Readiness Center Detachment Key West in November 2025.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three gold stars); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four gold stars); and various service and campaign awards. He is entitled to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist insignia.
